Dr. Sarah Williams is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience. She has also completed a PhD in Psychology on best and close friendships in adulthood (reciprocation, dissolution, ostracism, distress, and restoration).
Sarah approaches each client with warmth, empathy, compassion, and a desire to facilitate positive change. Her ability to create a safe and non-judgmental environment allows individuals to openly express their thoughts and feelings, fostering a strong therapeutic alliance. She aims to empower individuals to regain control over their lives and develop coping strategies that promote lasting well-being.
Sarah has experience working with people across the life span. Her current areas of focus are women’s mental health, specifically regarding friendship related struggles; anxiety disorders (e.g., phobias and panic attacks); infertility distress and grief; and perinatal care (pre-and post-natal), including anxiety, depression, grief, birth-trauma, and adjustment to life after pregnancy loss or birth.
Sarah is committed to providing evidenced-based interventions tailored to client’s specific goals, by drawing on a range of therapeutic techniques including. Her primary therapy modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
Sarah is a Board-approved supervisor and has extensive experience in providing clinical supervision for Master’s degree students and clinical psychology registrars. She also tutors a wide range of Master’s-level university psychology courses.
