Elsbeth is a clinical psychologist who has worked across both public and private mental health settings for the past 10 years. Elsbeth works with people who are experiencing a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, difficulties with emotion regulation, interpersonal difficulties, work-related stress and difficulties in adjusting to new or stressful life situations.
Elsbeth is naturally inquisitive and has a warm, collaborative and non-judgmental therapy style. One of her strengths is supporting people to better understand how they have arrived at their current difficulties. Elsbeth believes that when people are able to build insight into how their own unique history and personal experiences have shaped them, they are more able to access self-compassion and find effective ways to cope.
In her practice Elsbeth draws from a number of evidence based therapy modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and schema therapy.
Elsbeth is a board-approved supervisor with experience in providing clinical supervision for clinical psychology registrars.
