Jacqui is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker with almost ten years’ experience working therapeutically with individuals across various sectors, including government, non-government and tertiary education. Jacqui is calm, warm, compassionate and dedicated in her practice, prioritising safety and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship as a platform upon which it is possible to identify, work through and meet therapeutic goals.
Jacqui has specialist skills and interest in trauma healing and recovery and has worked in a number of services focused on supporting clients impacted by traumatic experiences including single incident trauma, interpersonal violence and abuse, childhood trauma, domestic and family violence and sexual assault.
Qualification/Membership:
Jacqui has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people with refugee experiences. Jacqui provides treatment both in English and Mandarin (普通话).
Jacqui is trained in a number of evidence-based therapies including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Internal Family System (IFS) and Motivational Interview Therapy (MIT).
Jacqui’s practice is strongly informed by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Polyvagal Theory. Jacqui is dedicated to provide a neurobiologically safe space and integrate a somatic approach into her practice where it is appropriate.
